I think we wore ourselves out last week waaaaaaay more than we realized at the time. Or perhaps it wasn't a wearing out so much as a not fueling up properly. OH my goodness, this month's chapter of UQ Holder! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! There were just...so many words...so...many...words... ugh... *dies* I mean, that's kind of par for the course with Akamatsu, but it seemed worse this time. I wanted to talk about Edens Zero because I love it so much. The anime is great; I love everything about it. We listened to the soundtrack three times today! (Because we were working on UQ Holder!, and oh my heck, was it wordy this month! which means it was time-consuming and took three whole EZ-soundtrack-lengths to finish.) Oh man. We worked on UQ Holder! today, and I gotta tell you, this month's chapter is exactly as bad as one of the more chatty chapters of Negima. I mean, as far as having a lot of words to translate. It was a pretty good read, though, so I can't complain too much, especially since the text did get less dense as it went on ( Read more... )

We just had a couple of simulpubs to work on today, so we thought it would be an easy day. It was not. I mean, when one of the simulpubs is UQ Holder!, we do expect it to be on the wordy side, but this month's chapter was EVEN WORDIER than usual. Today was the big day! Our plans were to finish translating this month's UQ Holder reallyreallyfast!, and then settle down for a Miraculous marathon. We heard this morning about the kind of nonsense that's going on in response to the new Evangelion translations, and suddenly we're a lot happier that Sailor Moon has an editor that keeps us in line...and that we can write translation notes to justify all our changes. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, you guys, work was so hard today! UQ Holder had to go and be all Negima-like on us. We haven't had a chapter of UQ Holder that talkative in a loooooong time. It is way past our bedtime, but we finished our work! We did seriously consider stopping and finishing it tomorrow even though our deadline was today.
